Atlanta Police Arrest Graffiti Suspect Zachary Thatcher

ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlanta police have arrested a Forsyth County man who they say is responsible for a number of acts of graffiti vandalism.

The suspect is 18-year-old Zachary Thomas Thatcher, who lives in Cumming.

He is blamed for spray-painting graffiti on light poles, bridges, signs, walls and public and private buildings around the city.

Thatcher is being held in the Atlanta city jail on a $10,000 bond.

Investigators say Thatcher goes by the ”tagger name of DEBRIS.

He tued himself in to authorities on Thursday, after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police tell FOX 5’s Justin Gray that this arrest is the first to result from an increased emphasis on anti-graffiti enforcement.

The Atlanta Police Department now has an officer assigned to investigate graffiti vandalism full-time.
