Arlington, VA police say they arrested an Atlanta Braves player Wednesday moing at the team hotel.

 

Arlington Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage said police were called just before 7 a.m. Wednesday to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Pentagon City.

 

 

 

Savage says a woman with visible bruises reported that Hector Olivera, 31, had assaulted her.

 

Police arrested Olivera and the woman was taken to a hospital.

Savage says Olivera is waiting to appear before a magistrate and has not been formally charged.

Savage says Olivera and the woman are acquainted.

 

The Braves are in the Washington D.C. area playing the Washington Nationals.

 

Olivera, 31, is an outfielder from Cuba. He’s played in six games this season, going 4-for-19.

He was acquired by the Braves last summer in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers for several players
