- Police are investigating an Athens man who died after a ”heated domestic dispute.

Police say Antonio Wilkerson, 39, died Sunday after a domestic-related incident at a home in the 100 block of Norwood Lane. Responding officers reportedly found Wilkerson semiconscious with a puncture wound to his chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say Wilkerson’s wife and four young children were also inside the home.

The details surrounding his death are unknown, but, police say, preliminary investigation suggests the incident may have occurred in self-defense.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an autopsy on Wilkerson’s body.
