Apprehended Fugitive Dermarco Seals Faces Judge

A fugitive arrested for murder in southeast Atlanta faced a judge Thursday moing for the first time since his capture.

Atlanta police say 20-year-old Dermarco Seals was arrested Wednesday in Michigan after six weeks on the run.  He's accused of killing 22-year-old Marquise Brooks at the Forest Cove Apartments on June 7.

Investigators say Seals' arrest is the result of a stepped up effort to track down people wanted for murder.  Atlanta police say Seals is the 51st fugitive wanted for murder captured out of state this year.   They say tips from the public led them to Seals in Michigan.
