Aimee Michael to be Released at Anytime
The woman charged in connection with a deadly hit and run accident on Camp Creek Parkway Easter Sunday remains in jail until the bail bonding company receives two documents from Aimee Michael's parents.
Once she is released, 22-year-old Aimee Michael will be under house arrest and closely monitored.
Her mother, Sheila Michael, posted bond and was released late Thursday night. She posted a $50,000 bond. With her husband at her side, Sheila Michael walked free from the Fulton County jail.
Aimee Michael was granted a $150,000 and placed under a 24-hour a day curfew with a monitoring bracelet to track her moves.
Police said Michael was on a quick errand to pick up cake and ice cream when her BMW switched lanes on a busy four-lane road in south Atlanta and crashed into the Mercedes carrying Katy Smith's family -- who lost her daughter, her son-in-law and two grandchildren.
Both cars were forced into oncoming traffic, where Tracie Johnson and her daughter, Morgan, 6, were returning from church in a Volkswagen Beetle that belongs to their pastor. Johnson was driving it as a favor to him.
Police said the BMW drove away from the scene.
