Actor Fred Willard finishes diversion program, avoids lewd-conduct trial
Actor Fred Willard has completed a diversion program for his arrest last summer for a suspected “lewd act” in an adult theater in Hollywood.
The Associated Press is reporting a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attoey’s office said Monday the 72-year-old comic actor completed the program in September.
As a result, he no longer faces charges stemming from the July 18 incident.
According to officers, Willard was arrested after police saw him engaging in a lewd act during a routine investigation of the theater.
Following his arrest, he was fired from his job narrating “Market Warriors.”
