Accountant Billy Hickman, Testifies in Heidt Slayings Trial

SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - A family accountant says he was told a Georgia man on trial for killing his father and brother had exchanged threats with his sibling over an affair the defendant was having with the brother's wife.

Billy Hickman, a financial adviser to both slain men, testified Monday in the murder trial of 42-year-old Craig Heidt in Effingham County.

Heidt is charged with killing his father, real estate developer Philip Heidt, and brother, Carey Heidt, in August 2008.

Hickman said the men's father considered removing Craig Heidt from his will because he was having an affair with his brother's wife. He testified Philip Heidt told him the brothers threatened to kill each other not long before the slayings.
