6-Hour SWAT Standoff Ends With Suicide in Buford Georgia
BUFORD, Ga. - A SWAT situation came to an end in Gwinnett County early Monday.
Police say a man who refused to come out of a home on Valley Mill Court has died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The SWAT team was called in shortly after midnight when police say they received a call regarding a domestic incident between the man and his wife.
Authorities say when the man threatened to kill himself, his wife and their teenage daughter fled the home.
SWAT members tried to communicate with the man and later, a robot located him on the second story of the home.
No one else was hurt.
