$50K Reward Offered in Wells Fargo Bank Robbery
Investigators released surveillance photos taken from inside a Wells Fargo Bank in Norcross during an armed robbery on Thursday, June 23, 2011.

NORCROSS, Ga. - Gwinnett County police say a bank robbery suspect opened fire in a Wells Fargo Bank on Thursday moing, wounding a bank teller. Now, a $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

It happened at the Wells Fargo Bank branch on Peachtree Parkway at Spalding Drive in Norcross around 11 a.m. The FBI says the suspect was wearing a wig, a hat, and was armed with a gun when he entered the bank and demanded cash.

Authorities say bank employees complied with the suspect’s request, and for some reason he fired several rounds as he was leaving the bank. The FBI says one of the tellers was hit in the arm, but that teller’s injuries are non-life threatening.

Police believe the suspect in Thursday’s robbery is the same person who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Centerville Highway in Snellville on June 13. Authorities are investigating, and the search continues for the suspect. A $50,000 reward is being offered by Wells Fargo Bank for information leading to his arrest.

Anyone with information should contact the Atlanta office FBI at (404) 679-9000 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS.
