CANTON, Ga. - Canton Police say they have arrested five people in connection with a robbery at an apartment complex last week.

The five men face charges of robbery, burglary and aggravated assault. Three arrests were made on January 20, one on January 21, and one on January 24, say Canton police.

Police say officers were sent on an apparent burglary in progress call to the River Edge Apartments shortly after noon on January 20.

Witnesses reported seeing five to six males, some of whom were wearing masks, fleeing on foot from one of the apartment buildings, before jumping into a white station wagon and leaving the complex at a high rate of speed, say police.

About a half hour later, four of the five suspects were apprehended during a traffic stop.

Arrested were Jerry Manous, 27, Samuel Triplett, 26, Antonio Tuer, 23, Andrew Daniels, 24, and Jeremy McCartney, 29.

Police say the five men could be facing more charges once the investigation concludes.
