2 Year Old Hit, Killed in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A family is in mouing after a 2-year-old child was struck on Covington Highway in DeKalb County. Police say the boy, his mother, and his sister were waiting at a bus stop when the toddler darted into traffic.

The young victim has been identified as 2-year-old King Kevion Isiac-Tubbs. Police have not identified the driver, but they say there’s no indication he did anything wrong before the fatal accident.

The driver of the Nissan SUV spoke at length to police, but was too distraught to talk to FOX 5 on camera about the accident.

Jacqueline Davis, a witness, was standing at the bus stop when the boy was struck and dragged several feet before the vehicle came to a stop. She told FOX 5 the driver was very upset, and prayed while leaning on his car.

Witnesses say the mother and her young children had just crossed Covington Highway when the little boy was hit.

DeKalb police say the driver of the SUV will not be charged.
