2 Cobb Teens Arrested for Threat

A threatening message on a school computer led to the arrest of two Cobb County teens. The message was directed at a fellow classmate.

The message was filled with profanity and contained a threat. School officials turned the matter over to Cobb County police, who tracked down and arrested two 14-year-olds.

Alicia Reckord said her 13-year-old daughter was in science class when she opened one of the computers and found a word document written to her.

The message read in part, "This is your stalker. I will rape you a month after you read this."

"Once the word rape was used, that was it. I have four daughters and I would expect any man with daughters would have reacted the way we did," said Mike Reckord.

The Reckords demanded that the school find out who wrote the message.

"With the choice of words these kids used, you can't take that lightly ever. You owe it to your kid to follow through," said Alicia Reckord.

Cobb County police got involved in the investigation, which led them to two 14-year-old boys, who are in class with the Reckfords' daughter.

The two eighth grade boys from Tapp Middle School are charged with making terroristic threats. Cobb County police said they hoped the case sends a message to other juveniles that all threats are taken seriously.

The Reckords said they hoped the boys will understand that what they did was wrong.

"I think they should be punished so they understand the severity of it," said Alicia Reckord.

Alicia Reckord's daughter said when she found out the boys were arrested, she was surprised because she didn't really know or associate with them.
