Your future is going to be amazing: Hillary Clinton comments on ‘Humans of New York’ gay teen photo that Facebook removed
A poignant photo posted on the Humans of New York Facebook page has received over a half-million likes in just a day, after Facebook removed the initial post for undisclosed reasons.
The subject of the photo is a teenager who appears distraught, and is accompanied with the quote, "I'm homosexual and I'm afraid about what my future will be and that people won't like me."
Democratic presidential nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton left an encouraging comment for the young person in the photograph. “Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you're capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you - there will be lots of them. –H”
Brandon Stanton, the creator of the Humans of New York project, has no idea why Facebook deleted the original post. No official reason was given, but some followers suggested that people may have flagged it for being offensive.
