'You embarrass me... I'm going to puke': Father reacts to his son coming out

A teenager who came out to his family took to social media after his father told him that the revelation was ‘worse than death' and that he was ‘going to puke'.

Tyler, 15, said he made the decision last winter to tell his family he was gay, starting first with his two sisters – who fully support him – and then his mother – who quickly got over her initial shock, the Huffington Post reports.

But when the Vancouver teenager told his father, the reaction was far from supportive.

‘We took care of you since you were a baby,' Tyler's father wrote in a Facebook post, which Tyler posted to his Tumblr account.

‘We loved you, took care of you when you're sick. Now this is what we get in retu, shame and embarrassment.

‘You embarrass me from all the people I knew. I'm going to puke.

‘You are trying to ruin me. This is worst than death [sic].'

Tyler later told the Huffington Post B.C. that he ‘didn't hate' his father.

‘I'm hoping there's still the possibility that he could change, even it takes a while,' he said.

‘Maybe he could accept me, because that's all I want… I just want him to be there for me.'

The teenager said his post had attracted support from all around the globe.

He is currently living with his aunts.
