A Yale University frateity is under scrutiny after a woman claims she and others were tued away from a party due to their race.

Columbia University freshman Sofia Petros-Gouin said she was visiting friends at Yale for the weekend when they decided to attend a Halloween party at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon frateity house, The Washington Post reports.

When they arrived, the woman told The Washington Post she witnessed a frateity member tuing away dark-skinned students by telling them, “No, we’re only looking for white girls."

The frateity member allegedly allowed only blonde, white women to enter, according to The Washington Post.

“I was shocked,” Petros-Gouin told The Washington Post. “I was disgusted.”

According to The Washington Post, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter at Yale has been accused of racial discrimination in the past. The chapter president told the Yale Daily News that there was no racial discrimination at the party.

Another frateity member, who asked not to be identified, told the Yale Daily News that those without Yale IDs were tued away. When the party became too crowded, police instructed them to not let anyone else inside, he said.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon national office is investigating, according to a statement quoted by The Washington Post:  "Our chapter at Yale University is comprised of a diverse group of students, and similarly, the social event included a diverse number of attendees."
