Some people have found themselves locked out of their Yahoomail accounts recently because they are using ad-blocker software.

The search engine has been trialling a new feature which blocks users who try and find a way around the constant barrage of adverts on the inteet.

Those who try to log on are greeted with an error message, according to Digiday, which ordered them to first disable their ad blocker.

The move was greeted with disdain from users, many of whom vowed to stop using the service.
