Wonder Years star Fred Savage introduces new baby son to the world on Twitter
Special surprise: Fred Savage and his wife, pictured here, Jennifer Stone had stayed mum on expecting, but the actor used social networking to reveal they had expanded their family on Monday

Fred Savage did not announce he and his wife were even expecting their third child but the Wonder Years star made sure the world knew his new baby arrived.

The child star took to Twitter on Monday to announced he was the proud father of a little boy - well sort of.

Living up to his now-title of director - he helms CBS hit Two Broke Girls - the child star relied on a picture to speak a thousand words, rather than revealing the baby's name or confirming if it was indeed his child.

Accompanying the picture of the baby Fred wrote just three words:

'He is here'.

The baby boy is the 36-year-old's third child with his wife, Jennifer Stone, 39.

And baby makes five: Savage already has two children, Oliver Philip and Lily Aerin, with his wife of eight years

The couple already have a son Oliver Philip, 6, and a daughter Lily Aerin, 4.

Jennifer, a commercial real estate agent, and Savage were childhood friends but lost touch when Fred moved to Los Angles to film his popular series.

They were reunited in their twenties and married in 2004.

'I promised to always bring up a glass of water to her before we go to bed, and she promised to never let me dress myself,' the actor told People at the time.

Meant to be: The director, pictured here with co-stars Danica McKellar and Josh Saviano, knew his wife as a child but lost touch while he filmed the Wonder Years, over a decade later they met again and fell in love
