A WOMAN has died at the hippie mecca Buing Man festival after falling under a bus, police say.

Buing Man organisers are working with police from Pershing County Sheriff’s office, and the woman has not been identified pending notification of her family, the Buing Man statement said.

“This is a terrible accident,” said Buing Man co-founder Marian Goodell. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and campmates. Black Rock Rangers and Emergency Services Department staff are providing support to those affected.”

Around 70,000 people visited Buing Man last year. Cash is banned, with participants instead urged to share or barter what they need.

Buing Man festival, an annual week-long rave draws thousands of free-thinkers to Nevada’s remote Black Rock Desert.

Organisers describe it as participatns coming together to create a temporary city “dedicated to community, art, self-expression and self-reliance.”

The festival got off to a late start this year after freak torrential rains hit the desert.

Hundreds of people were tued away as the downpour tued the Nevada desert to mud.

The festival has recently attracted complaints that it is being taken over by mega-wealthy Silicon Valley tech types and has strayed far from its free love roots.

Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Sergey Brin have all reportedly attended the festival for years.

The annual party ends with the with the buing of a giant effigy, and the ‘city’ then vanishes until next year.
