This is the moment a Spanish police officer was killed after being ‘pushed" undeeath an oncoming train.

 

Officer Francisco Javier Ortega, 28, was reportedly asking a group of passengers stood on a Madrid platform for identification papers when a scuffle broke out.

 

One of the men, named by a Spanish newspaper as Yode Ali Raba can then be seen dragging both himself and officer Ortega onto the tracks as a train approaches.

 

The video cuts out as fellow passengers start screaming at the horrific sight.

 

Both men were taken to hospital, however officer Ortega died from his injuries shortly afterwards.

 

Mr Raba, who reportedly is from the Ivory Coast and entered Spain illegally, is currently being treated for a head injury while police investigate the incident.

 

Officer Ortega has been posthomously awarded the gold medal of police merit, and the director general of Police in Spain, Ignacio Cosidó, has called the incident ‘murder".

 

‘It is clear that there is intent on taking the agent to the railway tracks and throwing him under when a train was approaching," he told El Pais.
