Given it’s one of his best-loved roles, it’s no surprise that actor Jeff Bridges wants to keep the spirit of The Big Lebowski alive.

In fact the 64-year-old – currently promoting his new film The Giver – showed just how popular the film still is at an LA Dodgers baseball game on Friday.

When he was invited along to throw out the opening pitch, Bridges duly obliged – but instead of tossing the ball baseball style he decided instead to open the game ‘Lebowski-style’, bowling the ball along the ground.

Understandably Bridges looked pleased with his efforts – while the crowd, judging from their reaction, appeared to love it.

The Coen Brothers film, originally released in 1998, starred Bridges as ‘The Dude’ Jeffrey Lebowski, a slacker and avid bowler who becomes caught up in a kidnapping plot.

Although it was not a big hit at the time of its release, it has since gained a cult following and spawned its own annual event, Lebowski Fest – which is due to take place later this month.
