Vida Golac denies trying to smuggle drugs into prison in her genitals and claims she was protecting her friends

A medical student who was found with marijuana in her genitals told police she hid it there to protect her friends, according to reports.

Vida Golac, 18, from Naples, Florida, was arrested after cops pulled a car over that was driving erratically between lanes yesterday.

When they searched the vehicle, marijuana was found beside where Golac, who was a passenger, was sitting.

According to the Naples Daily News, the 18-year-old told police it was not hers as she is a medical student on a scholarship and to check the other passengers.

They denied the drug belonged to them and were allowed to leave. Golac was arrested.

On the way to the Naples Jail Center, the student told the officer he was 'ruining her life' and she would now lose her scholarship - 'all for something that wasn't hers'.

But when they were booking her into jail, a strip search tued up more of the drug in her genitals.

She told authorities it wasn't hers and she was trying to keep her friends from getting into trouble.

She is being held on $6,500 bond.
