UGA student Ariel Arias arrested after threat at Miller Learning Center on Friday
A 19-year-old University of Georgia student was arrested on Friday after making a threat that caused the evacuation of the Miller Leaing Center on campus.
Police said Ariel Omar Arias admitted to spreading a social media post, which ended up being a prank.
The University of Georgia police gave an all clear Friday afteoon after the Miller Leaing Center was evacuated because of the threat of violence on social media.
MLC is at the intersection of Lumpkin and Baxter streets in Athens.
Arias was arrested and charged with two felony counts of making terroristic threats. He was also suspended from the University of Georgia, according to police.
