Über-clumsy waiter spills five beers on German chancellor
Germans love their beer, but as a rule they also prefer drinking it to wearing it. German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently got a Kölsch shower when a waiter spilled a tray of five beers on her at a Political Ash Wednesday event in Demmin, Germany. To Merkel's credit, she barely even budged, and even stuck around to smile and give a cheerful toast after the horrified server slunk away. It's been a bit of a rough week for Merkel; this incident comes days after a Greek joualist was fined €25,000 for calling Merkel a \"dirty German slut\" on the radio -- an insult that we hope, like the beer, rolled off the stoic chancellor's back.
