Trooper Donald Crozier Fired in Wreck That Killed Braves Trainer's Wife Kathy Porter
GA Daily News has leaed that a Georgia State Patrol trooper has been fired following an accident that killed the wife of Atlanta Braves trainer Jeff Porter.
In a statement released on Friday, the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, Colonel Mark W. McDonough, said Trooper Donald Crozier was terminated earlier in the day.
The accident happened at Memorial Drive and Capitol Avenue while Porter and his family were headed to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl at the Georgia Dome. Kathy Porter died at the scene.
Authorities say the cruiser, driven by Crozier, collided with the Porter's SUV. Crozier was responding to a call at the time.
A new report says he approached the intersection at a high rate speed but failed to slow down.
McDonough said the investigation into the accident continues.
