Severed head discovered on popular Australian beach

Australia's idyllic-sounding Porpoise Bay has been closed by the police after a girl looking for seaside treasures discovered a severed human head.

The head, believed to be that of a Caucasian male between 30 and 50 years old, was wrapped in a plastic bag.

Officers have no clues to the man's identity, other than the fact that he didn't have any piercings and was missing several teeth. \"That's not recent,\" a Major Crime Squad officer said. \"He was missing his front upper teeth before he met whatever fate he's met.\"

Police are still scanning the sand and searching the water for additional clues — or worse, body parts.
