Trapped woman mistaken for ghost in China wall
The moment the woman is freed from the wall by firefighters.

POP quiz. You hear a voice coming from a wall. What do you do?

Well, if you're in China you assume it's a ghost - naturally - and continue to go about your business.

That's exactly what happened in China's Anhui province after a woman became trapped in a wall.

The woman decided to take a shortcut on her way home but the passageway became so tight she got stuck and couldn't tu back.

Locals heard her screams but assumed it was the voice of a ghost and steered clear.

It wasn't until seven hours later that a passerby realised the voice was not from the dead and called for help.

Video footage shows firefighters chipping a hole in the concrete wall eventually big enough to hoist the woman out.
