Tour de France stage two winner Vincenzo Nibali wasn't quite as smooth on stage as he was on the road after Sunday's victory.

The Italian rider took to the podium to receive the customary winners' Yellow Jersey and a bouquet of flowers.

However, after successfully landing a kiss from one of the glamorous ladies flanking his stage, Niabali moved in on the second only to be spectacularly denied.

Although it was clearly a simple case of mistiming, Nibali still tried to save his blushes by pretending to fix his collar.

Unfortunately, it was too late for poor Vincenzo…
