This creepy 'free candy' van is putting parents on edge
When a white van with the words "free candy" spray-painted on its side rolled through Sacramento, many children and parents were alarmed.
That's why 12-year-old Lawrence Bellow took a photo of the van, which appeared to be smeared with red handprints.
"I didn’t know what was going on, so I just wanted to get evidence in case anything happened," Lawrence told KOVR-TV.
"It just gave me a creepy feeling," his mother, Dominique, added.
They weren't alone. Conceed neighbors also shared photos of the van on community message boards.
The good news? The mysterious vehicle is long gone and apparently was painted that way as a joke, according to Sierra Deblonk, a friend of the man who owns the van. He apparently was driving through Sacramento while traveling to Nevada's Buing Man festival.
