Tennessee man Gregory Scott Hale charged after killing woman and eating her

A man living in Tennessee has been charged with murder after killing a woman at his home and mutilating her body – which included eating parts of her.

Gregory Scott Hale, 37 is charged with the first-degree murder of Lisa Marie Hyder and abuse of a corpse, after a body was found in a rural part of Coffee County.

Sheriff Steve Graves said officers leat about the murder early on Monday moing, when Hale was allegedly attempting to get help disposing the body.

Some of the details of the murder were so gruesome that the assistance district attoey couldn’t mention them on Monday afteoon.

‘We are very early in the investigation,’ said Maria Holloway.

‘The officers were out late last night into the early hours of the moing gathering information.’

Several of Hale’s neighbours called him ‘sick’, with one even referring to him as a devil worshipper, according to WSMV.

‘We will certainly be looking into everything that we’re hearing.

‘As you can imagine the things that you’re hearing are the same things that we’re hearing,’ said Holloway.
