Teen Deals with Surviving Plane Crash
Two people, 19-year-old Sarah Conklin and 18-year-old Joshua Rumohr, survived the plane crash that took the lives of 18-year-old Alexander Sasha Medina of Newnan and Fulton County Juvenile Court Judge Sanford Jones.
Joshua Rumohr's parents said Friday was an emotionally draining day for their son, who walked away from the fatal crash with only a gash on his head and some bumps and bruises.
His parents brought him back to Newnan from the plane crash scene late Friday.
"He had a gash behind his ear. It took about 20 stitches. He's banged up and very emotional," said his mother.
The 18-year-old National Guardsman isn't ready to talk publicly about the plane ride that killed his friend and fellow Newnan High School graduate, Alexander Sasha Medina.
Rumohr's parents said their son's range of emotions is too hard to describe.
"I had talked to him on the phone. It made me feel a little better know that he was able to talk to me. Now it's just getting over the emotion about what has happened to his friends and basically he survived a plane crash and we're very grateful for that," said Rumohr's mother.
Joshua's girlfriend, Sarah Conklin, walked away from the crash unharmed.
