Substitute teacher allegedly duct tapes student's mouth shut
A Louisiana mother is speechless after leaing that a substitute teacher duct-taped her son's mouth shut in an attempt to keep him quiet.
Michelle Droddy says her 9-year-old was completely humiliated and "extremely upset" by the incident at J. Wallace James Elementary in Lafayette. "He told me he didn't want to go back to school no more," Droddy said.
School Superintendent Pat Cooper says they interviewed more than 100 students to confirm the incident and that the sub won’t be rehired. "[It's] outside the boundaries of … common sense," Cooper says. "You just don't do that to children."
Droddy says she plans to pursue criminal charges against the tape-wielding teacher.
