Study says ambitious people live shorter, unhappier lives

People who attended America's most prestigious schools may seem to have the world by the tail, but it tus out all that high achievement may come at a steep price.

The ambitious alumni of elite universities such as Harvard, Yale and Princeton don't live as long as those who are less upwardly mobile, and they're no happier than the rest of us workaday schlubs, either, according to a new University of Notre Dame study. \"Ambitious people do achieve more successful careers,\" lead researcher Timothy Judge notes. \"But that doesn't seem to translate into leading happier or healthier lives.\" Now if only researchers would prove thin, beautiful people are miserable too, we'd really be getting somewhere.

Is a successful career worth it?
