A website leaking nude photos from Snapchat has popped up and spread like wildfire on Twitter and Facebook, attracting more than 500,000 Likes on the latter in less than 24 hours.

Photo sharing app Snapchat allows users to set how long a picture can be viewed for (between 3 and 10 seconds), making it a popular medium through which to share images of a more anatomical nature, shall we say.

In order to preserve its momentary nature, the app sends a waing to a user if the person they are sharing with attempts to take a screenshot, but this system is not foolproof.

Images can still be preserved if captured on a Jailbroken device or photographed from another handset, which has led to the latest breach in users' privacy.

Snapchat Leaked claims to ‘show those snaps that don't want to be seen' and has begun posting images on Facebook and Twitter, mostly of boobs, bums and other body parts.

The page has attracted 534,000 Likes in just 20 hours, encouraging fans to submit their own surreptitiously obtained pictures.

Some followers have criticised the page and waed that it could face legal action, while others have used it simply as an opportunity to critique the various naked bodies.

UPDATE: The Facebook page has been suspended (13:07 GMT, May 28) as it broke the social network's terms and policies. It has retued (no doubt briefly) as ‘Snapchats Leaked' here

Neither Snapchat nor Facebook were available for comment, but Snapchat Leaked told Metro: ‘Facebook has unpublished our page due to users using the page to 'bully” other users. We are working with Facebook on this issue.

‘All images are user submitted, if the person asks to take them down we do, most see it as fun and getting 'facebook famous”.'
