Sexual assault reported at Georgia Gwinnett College
Georgia Gwinnett College

Gwinnett authorities have alerted GA Daily News about a sexual assault that occurred on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College.

The incident happened between Sept. 9 at 11:45 p.m. and Sept. 10 at 2:45 a.m. in the B parking lot of the college. The area is southwest of the residence halls complex, campus safety officials said.

The victim said she was retuing to her car when she was attacked from behind and pushed into her car where the sexual assault took place. She said the man then fled on foot.

Authorities said the man they are looking for is described as a light-skinned black man, with a muscular build and wearing white shorts at the time of the assault.

They told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh the parking lot attack is unrelated to another attack that happened in a campus residence. An arrest has been made in that case.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the parking lot attack to notify Georgia Gwinnett College campus safety at 678-407-5333. Callers can remain anonymous.
