Roshan Bhattarai: Online date binds woman in duct tape and rapes her after getting in his car to have ice cream

A Texas man bound and raped a woman he met online after she got into his car to go out for ice cream, according to police.

Roshan Bhattarai, 31, of Irving was arrested in Coral Springs early Monday moing after allegedly binding the woman in duct tape and forcing her to have sex with him in his parked car.

The victim told police that they met for the first time at Miller's Ale House for dinner before finishing and deciding to go out for ice cream after.

According to the arrest report, the woman got into his car and was driven into a parking lot where he pulled her pants down and got on top of her, Local 10 reports.

The woman said she repeatedly told Bhattarai that she didn't want to have sex with him but he next bound her hands together with duct tape, according to police.

When finished Bhattarai retued the woman to the restaurant where they first met and drove off. The woman immediately called 911.

He was located by police around 3am on Monday moing in Tamarac and identified by his alleged victim.

Police say a used condom was found on the ground near where the car was parked.

Bhattariai told the woman he was visiting Florida on a business trip from Texas. A nearby hotel he was staying at confirmed those details to News10.

He has been charged with sexual battery and held on a $25,000 bond.

A previous arrest report for Bhattariai shows he was arrested in Dallas County in 2001 for assault but the charge was later dropped.
