ATLANTA, Ga. - A neighborhood is on edge following a string of rapes and burglaries at a Buckhead apartment complex. The crimes took place at the Peachtree Park Apartments on Peachtree Park Drive and another complex near Lenox Road.

Investigators say they have not definitively tied all three cases together, but there are similarities to raise conces that they were committed by the same suspect, and that he may strike again. Police say three attacks were reported since January 1.

Police say they believe the suspect has broken into two apartments and raped a total of three young women at gunpoint. The women were all awakened and surprised to see the suspect standing over them.

There have been no signs of forced entry, police say, and all of the attacks have taken place in the moing. They say the suspect has concealed his face from his victims.

Georgia Newsday spoke to some female residents in the complex who say they were not notified of the rapes, and they’re very conceed. Some said the complex has posted notices about break-ins, but they were not given information about any sexual assaults.

"They put a letter on our door saying there were some breaki-ins. But nothing about a sexual assault," said resident Lisa Eisenhart.

When asked if she should have been notified of the assaults, Eisenhart answered, "Yes."

The latest assault took place Wednesday. Residents say they saw officers in their complex that night checking ID's, but many had no idea what was going on.

According to investigators, the possible suspect is described as a black male with a thin build who is about 5’8 tall and was dressed in an all-black outfit.

Atlanta police urge women to be aware of their surroundings, to always lock windows and doors, and to report any suspicious people or activity to 911. Anyone with information on these crimes is urged to call Atlanta Police or CrimeStoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
