Racist French Elle article on Obamas appears, vanishes

The title "Black Fashion Power" should've been a tip-off. Writer Nathalie Dolivo's French Elle magazine article about the Obamas has caused le scandale, after she credited the First Family for bringing "the chic" to "a community so far pegged to [only] its streetwear codes."

Several other unfortunate stereotypes followed. "This is what happens when there are no black people on staff," Fashion Bomb Daily wrote, while one Elle commenter typed, "How, in 2012, in a France where there are at least three million blacks can you write such nonsense?"

The article has been pulled; the error page now says "Oups!"

Did you take offense to the Elle article?
