Princess Charlene tried to flee three times before wedding to Prince Albert: reports
The newlywed Princess Charlene tried to flee Monaco three times before she wed Prince Albert this weekend, according to press reports.
The former Charlene Wittstock, 33, a South African, even tried to take refuge in her country's embassy in Paris, the Sunday Telegraph reported, citing French papers.
Albert, 53, the son of the late Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco, is due to undergo DNA tests following a claim that he fathered an illegitimate child, the Telegraph reported. He already has two illegitimate children.
Monaco palace officials denied the reports.
The couple were married in an elaborate religious ceremony Saturday.
