Police: Teen Driver Elizabeth Ramirez In Fatal Crash Had No License
Glen Burnie Man Killed In Sunday Collision

BALTIMORE -- Police in Anne Arundel County said a 19-year-old who was driving without a valid license crashed into another car early Sunday, killing the driver.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Route 3 and Davidsonville Road in Crofton.

Police said Elizabeth Ramirez, 19, of Millersville, was trying to tu left onto Davidsonville Road from southbound Route 3 when she hit Javaid Firdaus, 63, of Glen Buie, who was headed north on Route 3.

Firdaus was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he later died. Ramirez and her passenger, Monique Spriggs, 19, of Crofton, were treated for minor injuries and released.

A preliminary investigation showed that alcohol, drugs and excessive speed were not factors.

Police said Ramirez only had a leaer's permit, not a valid license, and she had no legally required supervision. Investigators said she had also taken the vehicle without a relative's permission.

There's no word yet on whether charges will be filed.
