OOPS: The court in Karachi, Pakistan where the bomb was detonated

A judge, a court clerk and the cop were among five who were rushed to hospital as a bomb disposal unit stormed the courtroom on Monday.

The grenade went off while a case was being heard against a man accused of terrorism in Karachi, a port town in Pakistan.

Police claimed he used grenades to harass people in the streets and discovered a stash of explosives on his person when they arrested him.

The unfortunate blast occurred when the bungling police officer pulled the pin out of the hand bomb while presenting it as evidence.

A senior officer, Jamil Ahmed, confirmed that a blast had taken place but said that police believed the detonator had been defused.

He added that explosives surrounding the detonator had been made harmless.
