Police: Man Hit, Killed By Car After Pulling Himself From Wreckage

SWISSVALE, Pa. -- Police said they believe a man who wrecked his car in Glassport on Sunday survived the impact of the crash but was killed when he escaped the wreckage.

Police said Alshun Moore, 29, of McKeesport, lost control of his car on Lincoln Boulevard around 2 a.m. Investigators believe he was either ejected or pulled himself out of the wreckage.

According to investigators, Moore was killed when he walked back onto the roadway and was hit by a passing pickup truck.

Investigators said they are looking for a red truck that was captured on a gas station surveillance camera. Police said the driver may not even know he hit somebody.

"It would fall under the category of hit-and-run. But it's possible that the driver doesn't know he struck something. That is something we will weigh out once we find the driver," said Lt. Andrew Schurman of Allegheny County police.

Witnesses told police that they saw the truck fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Allegheny County police.
