Police hope surveillance cameras help solve Underground Atlanta shooting

Police believe an argument between acquaintances ended in deadly gunfire Tuesday night and investigators hope surveillance cameras may offer clues to a shooting death at Underground Atlanta.

Carlos Antonio Glenn, 24, of Atlanta, died after being shot at least once in the chest on Alabama Street, near Kennys Alley, according to Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci and the Fulton County Medical Examiners Office.

I did hear a pop, said Rick Sanders, who was at Underground Atlanta at the time of the shooting, but didnt see the incident.

Officers were called to the downtown entertainment district around 7:20 p.m., according to Officer John Chafee. Glenn was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died, Chafee said.

Police had not identified any suspects early Wednesday and were searching for any witnesses, Guerrucci said. But Glenn likely knew the shooter, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a random shooting and that the victim was involved in an argument that escalated to gunfire, Chafee said.
