Police: Dog found carrying toddler in its mouth

Detective Jeffrey Harris was speaking with Teresa Budd in Plant City when he noticed a 50-pound Boxer attacking something. When the got closer to the dog, they saw that the 50-pound Boxer had a toddler in its mouth.
Harris shouted at the dog and it dropped the toddler. The child was later identified as 2-year-old Michael Diaz. Budd went to Diaz’s home and alerted his mother, the report said. Officers said the dog was owned by the Diaz family and that their house was near the location where the dog was first spotted, according to The Times.
The boy’s mother was distraught when leaed of the incident, Budd said. The Sheriff’s Office is currenly treating the case as a dog bite.
