Phyllis Amonica Charged With First, Second-Degree Murder From Domestic Dispute
Police: Domestic Dispute Leads To Stabbing Death

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. -- Anne Arundel County police are investigating the death of a man at the home he shared with a woman who police say stabbed him.

Police were called to a home in the unit block of 5th Avenue in Glen Buie around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute.

At the scene, officers found 47-year-old James Pfaff suffering from a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to Shock Trauma, where he later died.

Police said Pfaff and Phyllis Amonica, 38, got into a fight at the home, and Amonica stabbed Pfaff.

Amonica suffered minor cuts in the scuffle. Police said they're trying to determine if her wounds were self-inflicted or if she got them in self-defense.

The police department said Wednesday afteoon that Amonica has been charged with first- and second-degree murder.
