Paper Ford Mustang Unveiled
This Mustang isn't Ford tough

This hand-made paper replica of a 1969 Ford Mustang, created by artist Jonathan Brand, looks incredible -- but the story behind it is even better. Brand once owned the real deal -- but he sold it to finance his engagement. Bereft, he recreated it using nothing but paper, glue, and a variety of folding techniques -- down to the car's (literal) nuts and bolts -- for this sculpture, called "One Piece at a Time."

Brand worked from memory, so it's not a perfect re-creation. It was good enough, though, that one kid visiting Brand's exhibition kicked in a tire (which was placed near the car's body), thinking it was real. The title, by the way, references a Johnny Cash song, about a Cadillac assembly line worker who hoped to one day own the car he built.
