Not the end of the world: Just a landslide in California
A landslide did this to a road in California

We’ve seen roads melt before, but we’ve never seen roads ripped up and buckled so easily as they have were in Califoia yesterday.

And no, it isn’t the end of the world.

A two-mile stretch of the Vasquez Canyon Road has been closed indefinitely following an enormous landslide that has lifted half the track more than 15ft in the air and severely warped the other half.

In less than 24 hours, the flat stretch of road was transformed into something reminiscent of a disaster movie.

Paul Funk with L.A. County Department of Public Works said the landslide shifted ‘the mountain itself’, which pushed the road up and out of shape.

He added that it would be out of action for ‘a long time’.
