No Bail For Cobb County Man Morgan Yarbrough Accused of Setting Ex-Girlfriend on Fire
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The man accused of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire made a court appearance Thursday moing.
Morgan Yarbrough answered the questions asked by the judge, saying he understood the charges against him.
Cobb County police say Yarbrough, 25, of Powder Springs, surrendered Wednesday after spending hours on the run.
According to investigators, Yarbrough got into an argument with his former girlfriend -- identified as Rachel Brokaw, a school teacher in Cobb County -- at the gas station. They said he doused Brokaw with gas from one of the pumps, and then lit it on fire.
Police were searching for the black 2007 Dodge Charger which Yarbrough used to flee the scene. He tued himself into police Wednesday afteoon.
Brokaw suffered serious third-degree bus, and police said she is being treated at a local hospital.
Yarbrough faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and arson. He is being held in the Cobb County jail without bond.
When contacted about Brokaw, officials at the Cobb County school where she teaches had no comment.
