Nia Green Beating: Georgia mom livestreams daughter's beating; police investigating
Nia Green Beating

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say they are investigating a video live-streamed on Facebook showing a Savannah mom beating and cursing at her teenage daughter for posting provocative pictures online.

A later post that appears to be written by the mother, who has not been charged, says "I love my daughter with all my heart." But she says her daughter won't "disrespect me."

Investigators said they spoke with Nia Green, the young lady in the video been beaten by her mom and she told them she feels safe in the home.

”Our special victims unit looked into the case and officers talked to the mother and daughter, Savannah-Chatham police spokesperson Daisha Green told the Washington Post. ”Although the daughter said she felt safe in the home, the case has been referred to the Department of Family and Children Services.

A spokeswoman for that agency, Susan Boatwright, would neither confirm nor deny involvement in the case, citing privacy laws.
