Newnan Daycare Operator Sol Jason Moon Charged with Sexual Battery

NEWNAN, Ga. - A daycare operator in Newnan is behind bars after police say a parent told them her child was abused.

Sol Jason Moon, who was called ‘Papa’ by the children who came to he and his wife Judy’s home each day for daycare, is charged with aggravated sexual battery.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Department says the couple had an unlicensed operation and cared for children from ages 6 weeks to 13 years old.

Neighbors of the couple told FOX 5 they were stunned by the charges against Moon.

Deputies say after the parent complained about the alleged abuse, investigators quickly moved in and interviewed all of the children. Neighbors say Moon’s health hasn’t been the best, and they told FOX 5 they believe he is disabled.

According to neighbors, the Moons have run a daycare out of their home in Newnan for many years.

Moon is being held without bond at the Coweta County Jail. Deputies say more victims have emerged, and more charges may be filed.
