New Jersey 100-year-old Michael Juskin hacked sleeping wife Rosalia to death with an axe before killing himself

A 100-year-old man might be one of the oldest murderers in history after he allegedly chopped up his sleeping wife with an axe and then took his own life.

Michael Juskin is said to have killed 88-year-old Rosalia with the axe as she she slept on the first floor of their home in New Jersey, USA.

Juskin then went to the bathroom where he reportedly killed himself with a knife.

‘It really is sad – and shocking, to be honest,’ Teresa Communicates, a neighbour of the couple, told the North Jersey Record.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said the cause of the attack remains unknown, but there was a ‘history of domestic issues’ between the couple.

Juskin also suffered from dementia.

Neighbours told the Record that the couple were often seen out and about and there were no signs their might be impending trouble.

‘They were always together, putzing around outside,’ said Barbara Szczecina, 65.
